Eleanor & Park (Rainbow Rowell): Review

   Good Morning everyone. How are you today? So, I just finished the most awesome book ever! You don't have idea, I laugh, I cry, I smile, I got mad. It was a true explosion of emotions. And the book I'm talking about is... *tam-ta-ra-taaamm* Well, you already know the name of it, right? It's the awesome, beautiful: Eleanor & Park.

   The book takes place in the 80s and deals with the relationship between Eleanor and Park and how they help each other.

   Eleanor is new to the school, dressed in a different way, is a little big and his hair is a redhead who call everyone's attention. It is extremely poor - do not even have money to buy a toothbrush or even a good bra. And live in a problematic environment: his stepfather, Richie, hates her and just likes to complicate her life in a way that does not occur to anyone. The mother did not really care about her, since herself is well . Eleanor has to share a room that only have room for her, with his brothers.

   Park on the other hand, is a half-Korean boy who, in a way, is also excluded from society, he likes to read comics, use eyeliner, cover by black clothes and likes to be in his world of music. His family, is proof that true love can exist.

   The two meet for the first time on the bus, when Eleanor is forced to sit next to him and Park does not seem like it. This occasion leads to the two do not like each other very much at first impression. From that moment, they pass to go together on the bus.

   Over time, things changed... Eleanor starts reading the comics Park over his shoulder, he noticed, and begins to pass the leaves more slowly. Friendship starts here. Park will lend starting their comics and cassettes for Eleanor and the two, that only exchanged glances, now start with daily conversations.

   I do not know what I can say about the book, was one of the books of my life and I'll never forget it. It was so real! I loved every page, every sentence and every word. When it comes to the end: "And now what? I want more I want to know what will happen!" and that's where we see that the book really held us in an inexplicable way.
   I believe that another reason I love this book so much, was because I love 80s and I love music and tapes and that enviroment. I wish I could leave there... I think the book filled that space in me.

“It was the nicest thing she could imagine. It made her want to have his babies and give him both of her kidneys.”

“He’s so pretty. I love his hair! I want to eat his face!”

   I give it: 4,5 big stars.
